ISO 9001 is the world’s most popular quality management system standard and is all about keeping customer satisfied. Whatever sector you operate in, from manufacturing to services, companies that adopt the principles of quality management have benefited from the more efficient ways of working, better cost control and fast and more effective implementation of new working practices. ISO 9001:2015 is the new business improvement tool that helps drive continual improvement and deliver results in organizations. It helps Company’s business stand out, gain a competitive edge, and grow. The key focuses of the ISO 9001:2015 revision was to enhance clarity and compatibility with other management system standards. Started from June of 2018, the ISO implementation in service quality management project had been warmed up with ISO awareness training for the Baria Serece ISO team. Reviewing system, policies, procedures and processes as well as training the ISO team to carry out internal audits were steps to approach ISO 9001 requirements. In November 2018, Baria Serece had a two-stage assessment from TUV Nord certification body to be qualified for ISO certification. First an initial review of the management system against ISO 9001 identifying any omissions or weaknesses that need resolving before stage #2 full assessment. Our journey doesn’t stop with certification. We are continually developing in order to provide the best service to our customers that we possibly can. The Iso certification ensures we remain committed to developing and enhancing services. ;
Developing a successful innovation program depends on many factors. Sourcing ideas is an important first step. But frankly, that’s the easy part. What comes after ideas are collected is what matters. Because without implementation, ideas remain just ideas. In other words: Innovation = Ideas x Execution Businesses operate within the margins of execution using business proposal guidelines to gauge opportunity and manage potential. Proposals outline opportunity and risk, and the ones that make the cut turn into funded projects with allocated budgets and resources. New ideas get executed by that transitioning of rough concepts into actionable projects. In 2018, the Continuous Improvement Program received more than 80 new idea suggestions from Baria Serece staff in which 80% of them are approved by Department Managers and come to quarterly (yearly) recognition evaluation. Most of them are put in to practice and have been brought many benefits on operation efficiency, environment and process improvement. Thanks for the best sources of ideas- Baria Serece employees- who are allowing Company’s business more opportunity to develop and tweak services that will lead to increased profits.;
In the last 5 years, Baria Serece has been investing in new equipment as well as continuous improving facilities to create better & safer working conditions. Access/egress jetty is one of the highest exposure related to 5HPEs at Baria Serece with about 2,500 vessels/barges berthing/unberthing in Port per year. Providing safe access/egress for barge owner, shipman, customer, contractors, employees... is our utmost priority. It is important to have reliable and safe gangways with strong, stable and clean to avoid potential injuries. In December 2018, Baria Serece has invested to install a new gangway. This gangway is fixed on the jetty to replace old mobile gangways. It could be self-adjustment following the high or the low tide. When not using gangway, it placed to be a tight fit at the edge of the jetty. This investment demonstrates the value of Baria Serece’s careness for the safety of not only employees but also anyone working at Phu My Port. To provide a safe way to transport and deliver Diesel oil for equipment with ensuring fire safety and reducing using of forklift, Baria Serece invested new DO trailer with capacity of 2000L. It’s a significant investment that meet BariaSerece aspiration to reduce the risks of using forklift, less exposure and help operation activities more efficiency.;
In order to summarize quarterly and yearly business activities and setup development strategies for the following months, Baria Serce- Phu My Port has held Townhall meetings with the participation of Managers and all Company’s employees. Joining the program is more than 200 employees who have been engaged passionately with the Port. They are working among positions in all departments and are committed to working safely for the Company’s goals and contribute to the success of the Port. Thanks to this resources strength, Baria Serece has the flexibility to meet each customer’s needs. The beginning of the meeting is the sharing of Mr. Paulo Hladchuk - General Director about Company’s mission, vision, goals and orientation in the coming time. Mr. Paulo also emphasized that safety is always the first priority and we always put safety ahead of profit or production. We understand our responsibility to ensure the safety of every employee, and we work to ensure everyone is safe to go home every day. Through these Townhall meetings, the Board of Management also wish to show respect and honor to employees who have the best safety records and best continuous improvement ideas to enhance the safety culture either increase the productivity and efficiency of cargo handling. Whenever the financial report has been showed, the meeting environment becomes vibrant, over-clapping congratulations on Company’s goals which are increased sharply over the same period. The financial report illustrates the development as well as the opportunities and challenges of Baria Serece- Phu My Port to settle Company’s brand in the Vietnamese and international markets. The meeting is not only an opportunity to encourage employees to focus on accomplishing excellent work, but also a connection between the managers and employees, thereby affirming the strength of solidarity together to grow and develop the company.;

Safety reports significant improve 234 (2013) to # 4,000 for 2017; Improve access control and control number of people exposure to risks (reduce number of staff /contractors by facilitate the process); BSSMS from 40%(2014) to 77%(2016) and up to 80%(2017); Training and communication / 5 HPEs campaigns # 60,000 hrs; Safety is set as part of performance evaluation / bonus; Set up JHA / SOP for critical tasks (80); More than 1,000 new traffic signs, safety signs installed; Anual safety events: drills, safety day, safety week, family day, off the job Safety Handbook & Safety manual; Legal requirement compliance; It’s prove that when we did good improvement on safety then productivity also be improved. E.g. we did improvement on discharging SBS – vessel to VAL silos: Higher discharging rate, less time, less vehicle, less people, therefore less exposure;
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT IS ALWAYS ONE OF OUR PRIORITIES TO STRENGTHEN THE TEAM The success of a business is not only judged on the business performance but also on the culture of the business. Obviously, the core values of the enterprise play an important role in contributing to the development of an excellent corporate culture. At Baria Serece, core values are built on three basic elements: reputation, performance and people. In it, people are always the most valuable asset and the leading development goal of the company. Engaging, motivating and sharing are always an integral part of Baria Serece's cultural identity. Tet is always an integral part of the company's year-end activities. This is an opportunity for the members of the Baria Serece family to reunite with each other, temporarily shelving the work to enjoy the warmth on the threshold of the new year. This is also a time for us to review the activities of the past year, and to listen to the sharing and direction from the Board of Directors - important items for the whole group to enter the new year. On the 8th of March every year is also one of the important events of the Port to honor the women working at the company. On this day, in addition to participating in fun games, enjoy the attractive dishes at the restaurant, the sisters of the Port also received a bonus from the Board of Directors and the company's Trade Union. In parallel with the festive activities, the Senior Management Meeting held in March was successfully held in Mui Ne with many innovative contributions in building human resources. Power, project management and focus on cost effective management. This is also a time where we reinforce the company's aspirations and goals, recognize the challenges, tap into the core, build on the strategic direction of the Baria Serece goes to the sea. With the determination and effort of all Baria Serece family members, our Company's goals will certainly materialize in 2017.;
Baria Serece JSC is make efforts to support local schools and local students. This year was not different. Baria Serece sponsored poor students who achieved good performance during the school year. At the closing ceremony in 2014-2015, it was awarded 72 gifts including learning material for Le Loi Primary School’s students. These rewards will be an encouragement and exhortation for learning spirit of students in the next semester, which help them firmly believe on the path of seeking knowledge and continuing their dreams. ;
Baria Serece’s employees organized a cheerful barbecue party on November 26th, 2015. This is becoming a “tradition” in Baria Serece as this was the 3rd similar event of the year. This time we celebrated our safety achievements, performance achievements, strengthened our integration with Bunge and our neighbor Baconco, interacted with local authorities and nested contractors that work with Baria Serece along the year. Thanks to the good organization and in especial to the “kitchen” team, the party was a great success. Special thanks to Bunge employees that helped us to cook the best barbecue of the year. However, a part of delicious food, we had funny games and prizes distribution for employees that reported near misses in the last semester. On this occasion, we invited our family members for a training class on safety at home that was organized by Baria Serece’s HSE team. Family members felt happy and asking for more training sections for the family members. We believe that this event brought motivation for all Baria Serece and Bunge employees. The target is to continue working hard in forthcoming weeks and months keeping in mind that SAFETY IS THE FIRST. ;
Baria Serece has been investing resources (money and training) on safety improvements since 2013. Work at height, one of the 5 HPE’s, is also one of the most risky tasks in Baria Serece. We had invested significantly on physical improvements to make this task safer and consequently the worker safer. Baria Serece bought a main lift equipment, installed handrails and obtained 7 FAS - fall arrest systems - especially for activities like truck canvas covering / uncovering and loading bags into barges. We had been experienced one case that a worker was saved by this system and we are very happy on this investment as we considered it as “INVESTMENT FOR SAVING LIFE”!;
